what is he best line to use for leader line and hook lenght and what pound line ? for fly fishing?

Here is a link for the common formulas used to tie your own leaders.
You can also purchase pre-tied leaders at any fly shop.
I’m partial to Orvis knotless leaders if I don’t make my own.
Most of the time I tie my own using Maxima.
Usually a 9′5wt rod takes a 9′ leader tapered to 5x for most common trout fishing applications.
A 7wt rod would be better served by using a 9 foot leader tapered to 3x for “heavier” fishing.
